Design and Fabric Selection
The designer first creates an initial design sketch and selects the appropriate fabric.
Typically, the design and fabric selection of swimsuits are decided by the factory. Patterns help designers ensure that each piece can be correctly assembled, meeting the body's contours and comfort requirements.
Sample Garment Production
Next is the sample garment production. The factory or professional seamstresses sew the fabric pieces together based on the pattern to create the first complete garment. This process may involve multiple iterations, with the goal of finding the perfect design through repeated adjustments. At this stage, the sample can be tried on to check for fit, comfort, and performance, especially during water activities.
Function Testing
A significant part of swimsuit sampling involves function testing. Samples typically undergo the following tests:
- Elasticity and Recovery: Swimwear needs to quickly return to its original shape after stretching and maintain a proper fit even after long periods of wear.
- Water Resistance: The performance of swimwear when submerged in water, especially whether the colors fade or the material becomes loose.
- Chlorine Resistance: The ability of swimwear to withstand chlorinated pool water, ensuring that it does not deteriorate quickly after use in a pool.
- Quick-Drying Performance: Whether the swimwear can dry quickly, enhancing comfort while wearing.
Feedback and Modification
After function testing and fitting feedback, the designer or brand will make adjustments to the design based on actual usage, improving any issues that may arise. This stage may require multiple modifications to ensure that the final swimsuit not only meets the original design intent but also fulfills functional requirements.
Mass Production
Once the swimsuit sample passes all tests and receives final approval, the factory will proceed with mass production based on this sample. This process ensures that all swimsuits are consistent with the sample, meeting quality standards and design requirements.
